CHILD CARE IN BASE HOUSING LICENSING REQUIREMENT In accordance with AFI 34-276, Family Child Care Programs, chapter 1, paragraph 1.3 and 1.4.3, "Any individual caring for other families' children a total of 10 hours per week on a regular basis must be licensed to provide care in on-base quarters." Penalty for violation of this 10 hour per week rule is, "The support group commander may revoke the housing privileges of individuals who provide child care and refuse to become licensed or who continue to provide care after their license has been suspended or revoked."

1. Please do not post any information you would not want to be made public. If you don’t want the world to know your address and phone number then don’t post it. You can find that out through e-mail or over the phone.

2. Expect to be asked for an interview. If you wouldn’t leave your kids with a stranger then don’t expect someone else will either. If possible get to know someone before you leave your kids with them. There is a Reference and Review section on the forums where you can see how people have been rated. I suggest it be utilized for everyone’s safety.

3. No gossip. No gossip. No gossip. If you wouldn’t say it to the Commander or in Church then don’t say it here. No one wants to force anyone from the group so please don’t make us.

4. I encourage you to participate and even to found play groups and get-togethers here. Many people have said it’s hard to find a group they like and this is an outlet to meet people in person. What better way to know if you feel safe leaving your kids with someone else than by socializing in a safe environment?

5. If you participate in the program then report the hours. All it takes is one person babysitting more than 9 hours a week on a consistent basis to ruin it for everyone else.

6. This is a safe environment for parents to come, find help and unload. Be civil with each other.
